The Cybersource Addon used with your Smartpay Fuse account can quickly help you reach your digital commerce goals through PrestaShop, and support you to enhance customer experience, grow revenues and mitigate risk.


Smartpay Fuse is a Barclaycard Payments product that has been developed in collaboration with Visa and Cybersource. Plugin integrations may be branded as Visa or Cybersource rather than Barclaycard Payments, and form part of the Smartpay Fuse ecosystem. The features outlined on this page reflect those commercially available for use with Smartpay Fuse. Plugin downloads may include additional functionality that is not part of the Smartpay Fuse commercial offering.

Getting Started

Smartpay Fuse Prerequisites

You will be able to configure this integration to either Test or Production. If you do not yet have a live Smartpay Fuse account, or you wish to first test the integration, then creating a sandbox account will not only allow you to start programmatic integration but also provides access to the Smartpay Fuse Portal.

  1. Visit our sandbox creation page here.
  2. Complete the registration form.
  3. Click submit to create your sandbox account.

Note: on submitting your application, you will receive an automated email from our partner, Cybersource, with first time login and password reset instructions. Be sure to check your junk mailbox if this doesn’t arrive within 2 minutes of clicking Submit.

Enable Unified Checkout

Create REST Keys

  • Sign into your Smartpay Fuse Business Center account (Live) or (Test)
  • Access Payment Configuration -> Key Management
  • Select the 'Generate Key' button in the top right hand corner
  • Select your key type as 'REST - Shared Secret' and Generate Key
  • Copy your Shared Secret Key values and save them securely

Installing the Plugin

Now that you have downloaded the plugin code from the Marketplace it's time to upload it into your PrestaShop instance

  • Sign in to your PrestaShop Back Office
  • Access "Modules -> Module Manager"
  • Select 'Upload a Module'
  • Either 'Drag and Drop' the the plugin file from Step 2 or click the 'Select File' link and find the file in your system
  • Wait for 'Module Installed' notification

n.b. In order to validate install access "Modules -> Module Manager" and scroll to the Payments section to determine if the 'Cybersource Official'  plugin is now present

Configure Plugin - General Settings

Once the plugin has completed install you're now able to begin configuration.  To access Configuration from the main dashboard go to:

Modules -> Module Manager  -> Scroll to Payment section -> Select "Cybersource Official Plugin" -> Choose "Configure"

Once in the Configuration screen you will be located on the "General Settings" Tab.

a.       Sandbox Mode: Select which environment you would like to configure Sandbox or Production. Please note that the plugin can retain two seperate sets of configuration, however you can only point at one environment at a time.

b.       Merchant ID: Enter your Smartpay Fuse merchant ID (Org-ID)

c.       Merchant Key ID: Enter your Smartpay Fuse REST Key ID (Created in Step 1)

d.       Merchant Secret Key: Enter your Smartpay Fuse REST Shared Secret Key (Created in Step 1)

e.       Payer Authentication: Enable or disable Payer Authentication - Please note you must be enabled for Payer Authentication through Smartpay Fuse and have your Payer Authentication credentials stored in the Enterprise Business Centre.

f.        Enhanced Logs - Enable or disable Enhanced Logs. These are normally only required for debugging purposes

g.        Payment Action: Select your desired  Payment Action when customers are checking out:
                Authorize -> Will only authorize payment on the customers card, capture is completed through PrestaShop Back Office and controlled by merchant at time of order fulfilment
                Sale -> Will complete an authorization and capture at the time of order (Generally reserved for digital goods or instant fulfilment)

h.        Developer ID: If using a Developer or System Integrator who is part of the Cybersource Developer Community they can enter their Developer ID here, otherwise to be left blank.

i.           Save Changes

Configure Plugin - Credit Card Payments

  • Ensure details saved in the "General Settings" tab are correct.
  • Switch into "Payment Settings" tab
  • Enable Credit Cards
  • Select Save
