Product overview

With the Visa Acceptance Solutions plugin for WooCommerce, you can offer your customers the option to pay with credit/debit cards, and/or digital wallets with Click to Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay directly on your WooCommerce site. Customers enter their payment details in a completely integrated payment form on your WooCommerce site, and Smartpay Fuse handles the rest, so customers never need to leave your site. This integration includes full support of WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce HPOS.

 


Smartpay Fuse is a Barclaycard Payments product that has been developed in collaboration with Visa and Cybersource. Plugin integrations may be branded as Visa or Cybersource rather than Barclaycard Payments, and form part of the Smartpay Fuse ecosystem. The features outlined on this page reflect those commercially available for use with Smartpay Fuse. Plugin downloads may include additional functionality that is not part of the Smartpay Fuse commercial offering.

Getting started

Smartpay Fuse Prerequisites

You will be able to configure this integration to either Test or Production. If you do not yet have a live Smartpay Fuse account, or you wish to first test the integration, then creating a sandbox account will not only allow you to start programmatic integration but also provides access to the Smartpay Fuse Portal.

  1. Visit our sandbox creation page here.
  2. Complete the registration form.
  3. Click submit to create your sandbox account.

Note: on submitting your application, you will receive an automated email from our partner, Cybersource, with first time login and password reset instructions. Be sure to check your junk mailbox if this doesn’t arrive within 2 minutes of clicking Submit.

Enable Unified Checkout

Create REST Keys

  • Sign into your Smartpay Fuse Business Center account (Live) or (Test)
  • Access Payment Configuration -> Key Management
  • Select the 'Generate Key' button in the top right hand corner
  • Select your key type as 'REST - Shared Secret' and Generate Key
  • Copy your Shared Secret Key values and save them securely
     




Download the Plugin

Navigate to the Visa Acceptance Solutions listing on the WooCommerce marketplace.

Complete the checkout to obtain the plugin to be installed on your website using WooCommerce.
Upon completion, you will be able to download this as a .zip file.

Install the Plugin

Now that you have downloaded the plugin code from the Marketplace it's time to upload it into your WooCommerce instance.

  • Sign in to your WooCommerce Back Office
  • Access 'Plugins'
  • Select 'Add New'
  • Select 'Upload', and select the .zip file you have downloaded.

 

Configure the Plugin

Once the plugin has completed install you're now able to begin configuration.  To access Configuration from the main dashboard go to:

Plugins -> Installed Plugins -> Choose "Configure Payment Settings" under "Visa Acceptance Solutions"

Required Configuration

  • Enable/Disable: Set to enable, the extension is active to take payments from your WooCommerce store.  When enabled, card payments are enabled by default
  • Title: The text here will be displayed to your customers on the checkout and Order Received page
  • Description: The text here will be displayed during checkout
  • Transaction Type:
    • Charge will automatically capture the transaction if the authorization is approved
    • Authorization will only send an authorization request and if approved, you will need to manually request a capture
      • Charge Virtual-Only Orders: If the order is exclusively for digital/virtual items, this setting will automatically capture the transaction if the authorization is approved
      • Capture Paid Order: If you mark an order as Processing or Completed, capture requests will automatically be sent
  • Environment:
    • Test for testing, directing traffic to your test Merchant ID.
    • Production for live transactions, directing traffic to your production Merchant ID.
  • Merchant ID/Test Merchant ID: The transacting Merchant ID (MID) for the respective test or production environment. 
  • API Key Detail/Test API Key Detail: The Key from your REST API Shared Secret Key. Ensure you use the right REST API Key for the Environment you are using
  • API Shared Secret Key/Test API Shared Secret Key: The Shared Secret from your REST API Shared Secret Key. Ensure you use the right REST Shared Secret for the Environment you are using
  • Accepted Card Types: Select the card brands you want to accept.
  • Payer Authentication/3D Secure for added payment security.  This should be considered mandatory for any merchant operating in the UK & EU regions.
    • Strong Consumer Authentication: Tick this to force a 3D-Secure Challenge when a customer chooses to save their card for future transactions


Optional Configuration

  • Digital Payment Methods: Choose from Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Click to Pay. 
  • Tick Tokenization to enable tokenization
    • Saved Card Verification: Tick this to request customers enter their Card Security Code when paying with a saved card.
  • Tick Fraud Screening to enable Decision Manager or Fraud Management Essentials.
  • Debug Mode
    • On: detailed logs will be created for every transaction.  This is only recommended for the Test Environment or troubleshooting issues in Production
    • Off: only basic logging is in place
