Reason Codes
This section provides information about the most common reason codes returned by the
Barclays
gateway. This section does not provide a definitive list of all Smartpay Fuse
reason codes. New reason codes can be added at any time. Your exception handling process should be
able to process any reason code. We recommend that you handle unrecognized reason codes as per
reason code
150
, and log the error for investigation.See Transaction Response Codes for all current reason
codes.
Reason Codes Color Coding
This table organizes reason code responses by color.
Color | Reason | Actions |
|---|---|---|
Green | Transaction was processed successfully. | No actions required |
Yellow | Transaction was rejected for a business as usual
type reason. | Cardholder has to use another card |
Orange | Transaction was stopped by Smartpay Fuse
because of incorrect workflow or wrong request fields. | Investigate payment workflow or request field
errors. |
Red | Transaction was stopped because of issuer/processor
technical issues. | If issue persists, contact Smartpay Fuse support
for help. |
